Australia- Thank you O.L.H.S. for my years at the school in the war time, I was enrolled from 1942-1947, and gained a sound education which has stood me in good stead over the years. Mr.Tom Lynch was the head master in my days, and after the end of the war a number of excellent staff joined the school, not to disparage the staff before that event.
I have lived most of my life in Australia; firstly in Sydney having arrived in 1958, but since 1967 in West Aust. I obtained my university education in the West, as a mature aged student, with an undergraduate degree, and three post grad. degrees, completing them in 1981.
I read the latest blog posted on the school website, and found it to be enlightening, which gave me the motivation to send this email. I wish the school every success in the future.

West End- Was at old building 1969-1974...For avoidance of doubt there was a " teacher of the same name there at roughly the same time...Best days of my life...John White , Jim Friel ,Mr and Mrs Lavelle ,Jimmy Kelly, " Spike " Milligan, Mr McIntyre (Mad Mac), Mr Mathieson,Mr Lunny,John Boyle ,Father Burns......desperadoes running horizontally up the wall in the Quad to try and knock on the staff room window, milk fights,blazer chalkings on the last day of term....Oh and ,almost forgot "Heap " McCann (Physics teacher ) whose pupil son was helpfully called "Heapson "... Also the best History teacher in history ,Mr Neilan ( "Fuzz" )....Illicit visits to the Tavern at Motherwell X in Sixth year with our anoraks zipped up over blazers ..... Ditto on "Usher " duty on Opera nights What a great school....Love to hear from anyone of the class of 73/74 ! Oh ,and the Theatre Club with Pete Mallon !

It was a brilliant experience , the teachers were all nice to us my favourate teacher was Mr Duddy , in truth looking back we spent a lot of time going from one building to another ..very happy days .
